Can a stone window sill be made to a specific size?

Yes. Stone sills can be fabricated according to project dimensions, subject to the characteristics and availability of the selected material.

Where are stone thresholds commonly used?

They are often used at doorways and transitions between different flooring materials, including bathroom entrances and other areas where a finished transition piece is needed.

Can I choose the edge finish for a stone sill or threshold?

Visible edges can often be finished according to the requirements of the piece and selected material. The appropriate treatment depends on where the stone will be positioned and which edges remain exposed.

Stone Window Sills & Thresholds Harrisonburg VA, Custom

Window sills and thresholds are relatively small pieces, but their dimensions and exposed edges make precision important. A stone sill can provide a finished transition beneath a window, while thresholds create a defined break between rooms, flooring materials or door openings. These pieces can be fabricated from selected stone to coordinate with nearby finishes without requiring an entire room to use the same material.

Smaller applications may also create opportunities to use material efficiently when the right size and selection are available. Color, pattern, thickness and edge treatment can be chosen according to the surrounding design and intended location.
